Open Question: Why doesn’t my Google Chrome browser use Google search?

I use google chrome and I love it. But just today, after I updated my AVG virus protection, when i type something in the search bar at the top, it goes to AVG search instead of Google. I’ve tried going to Tools – Options but I can’t change it. anyone??
